About myself-Professional
I have a professional background as a Social Worker, mainly in the
field of families and children, and as a tutor and lecturer in further education.
Since 1989 I have been working as a counsellor, from 1989 to 1995
in a college of further education, and since 1995 in private practice.
I have experience of doing Motability assessments for people
with a disability, and of counselling people who have had an
amputation.
I completed my Counselling Diploma in 1989.
From 1995 to 1999 I trained as a Core Process Psychotherapist at the Karuna Institute, Widecombe in the Moor, Devon, obtaining my MA in 2003. I have been registered with UKCP since 2000; prior to that, from 1996 I was registered with BACP.
I have done some group work training, and trained and accredited
as a Family Mediator.In 2004 I completed a year long training in working with Family andSystems Constellations, and in 2003, a fifteen day training with Babette Rothschild in working with Shock and Trauma.
