Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy tends to be longer term work, in which the client chooses to look at how they live their life, relate to others, and feel about themselves. Core Process Psychotherapy has a Buddhist based psychospiritual approach. It emphasises the health and interconnectedness of each person. It recognises, that in our life journey, our good health can become overlaid so that we and our relationships become limited.
The 'Core' is our inherent unconditioned state, our true potential, in which the qualities of peace, equanimity, loving kindness, compassion and joy rest. Our experiences in life, from the very first moments, can move us away from the Core. Our personality is shaped into a unique form which we identify as 'me' and through which we relate to the outer world. We can thus become very fixed, responding to situations in a narrow and self-determined way, rather than having a flexibility of response.
In my work as a Core Process Psychotherapist I aim to support a developing awareness of this shaping process and how it can limit us. In this greater awareness, our Core qualities can emerge more into our daily lives and relationships.
We are each, in some way or another, on a spiritual journey in our life. I would hope that our work together will be of help to both of us on this journey.
