What do I offer?
I work as a counsellor and psychotherapist with men, women, and young people over the age of twelve.
Counselling is sometimes seen as more short term work, concentrating on a particular problem, while psychotherapy is more a place to look at how we live, a place where personal behaviour patterns can be explored, and challenged.
In working with young people I lean upon my experience as a college counsellor, and as a social worker with families and children. I may use different methods to enable the young person in the exploration of their difficulty. The sessions will however be sensitively based upon their individual needs and mode of communication.
I also offer supervision to counsellors and to psychotherapists. I am currently completing the written and practical work neccesary to obtain my Diploma in Supervision.
I have a particular interest in the effects that shock and trauma have upon our lives, offering one to one work.
I have for many years also had an interest in group work, and from this offer groups looking at family and institutional systems; these are based on the work developed by Bert Hellinger; Constellations.
